For 40 years, sailors young and old have been chasing each other around the buoys on Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Be warned. Racing is addictive as well as being a sure-fire way of developing sailing and boat-handling skills. In addition, the Club usually hosts at least one Regatta during the season.
Don't know anything about racing? The club has orientation sessions for both the race committee duties and for basic racing rules early in the season.
Club member volunteers run the races. Racing program participants are asked to fulfill race committee duties at two racing events each season.
Races generally run
- Most Sunday afternoons, 1:30 - 3:30pm.
- Most Wednesday evenings, 6:00 - 8:00pm.
You should aim to have your boat in the water at the start time shown. See the LDSC Calendar for specific dates.
Race results are generally posted at the clubhouse. Results from some races are available to members on this site:
If you have any questions about the racing program, please contact the Rear Commodore.
